Who

Everything you wanted to know about Lúcera de Noctem (Lucera de Noctem).

The Artist

Who is Lucera de Noctem?

An Australian independent artist making dark ambient and nocturnal lo-fi music. The project started because a very specific sound existed in my head and nowhere online, so I made it myself.

Is it a band?

No, it's just me. No vocals, no collaborators. Just a very specific feeling I've been trying to capture in sound.

What makes it unique?

It's built around night as a mood rather than a time. Lunar imagery, gothic undertones, cinematic texture. It's not background music, it's a place.

The Name

Lúcera or Lucera?

Officially it's Lúcera de Noctem, but Lucera de Noctem works just as well for finding it. Same artist, both spellings get you there.

What does "Noctem" mean?

It's Latin for night. Felt right for music that only really makes sense after dark.

How do I pronounce it?

Something like "LOO-seh-rah deh NOK-tem." Honestly however you say it is fine.

What is LDN?

LDN is just a shorthand some people use. It stands for Lúcera de Noctem. Searching either will get you to the same place.

The Music

What genre?

Dark ambient, nocturnal lo-fi, cinematic ambience. Instrumental music made for late nights. If you need a box to put it in, those are the closest ones.

Lo-fi or ambient?

Both, depending on the track. Some lean into soft beats and texture, others are more pure atmosphere. The through-line is the mood.

What is it inspired by?

Moonlight, stargazing, rain on windows, insomnia, solitude. The feeling of being the only one still awake.

Is it cinematic?

A lot of it is, yeah. Some tracks feel like a scene from a film that doesn't exist yet. That's kind of the goal.

What's the mood?

Melancholic but calm. The kind of music that fits rain, late-night drives, or just lying there staring at the ceiling.

Find & Listen

Where can I listen?

Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music.

Official website?

You're on it. lucera.au and luceradenoctem.au both get you here.

Good for studying?

That's what a lot of people use it for. No lyrics to get in the way, just something to fill the quiet and keep the focus.

Does it have albums?

Yes. A debut album and a handful of singles so far, with more in the works. Check the Music section for what's out.

Is the music copyright free?

No. If you want to use it in a video or project, reach out first through the official site.

Hopeful Light

Single · 2024

Came out of a pretty rough stretch and a long break from making anything. Not really planned, just something that needed to get out. It ended up being about cutting through the noise and landing somewhere quieter. Dark ambient and cinematic lo-fi: music for late nights, deep focus, and emotional calm.

One Year's Past

Album · 2023

My first project. Honestly just made this for myself. Had a very specific sound in my head that I couldn't find anywhere, so I made it. Never really intended to put it out, but it felt like a waste to sit on it. Atmospheric ambient and nocturnal lo-fi, for stargazing, insomnia, and quiet solitude.

Bio

Lúcera de Noctem (Lucera de Noctem) is an Australian independent artist creating dark ambient and nocturnal lo-fi music: atmospheric instrumentals shaped by moonlight, solitude, and the quiet hours after midnight.

Entirely self-taught and still learning. The project started because a very specific sound existed in the mind but nowhere online, so the only option was to build it. None of it was really planned to be released publicly, but it felt wrong to keep it to a single set of headphones.

The commitment to getting better is the one thing that hasn't changed.
